It's In The Photograph of Love

I'm bored, and procrastinating, because I really don't want to study. Besides, all the cool kids are doing it. (I'm doing it the normal way, not the Avitable way.) Everyone have a great weekend and a happy Easter!

The End Has A Start

My boyfriend's brother's fiance, A2, is starting to really annoy me. (I call her A2 because her name is the same of someone I know, but she's younger and I haven't known her as long)

She and D got engaged when she was 18, after they had been dating for a year. I'm not generally one to judge other's relationships, but this is odd to me. They want to get married next summer, between her junior and senior years of college. Why can't they wait one more year and wait for her to graduate? I know every relationship is different, but who gets married at 20 anymore? (At least when they're not pregnant). She likes to talk about how mature she is for her age, but in my experience, if you have to talk about it, it's probably not true.

They look at my boyfriend and I and ask why we're not getting married. I never know what to say to this, because the truth is, I think we're too young. We've been dating for almost five years, and we have barely talked about even moving in together. I want to graduate from college and get a steady job before committing myself to anyone.

This is not the reason she annoys me, however. Last year we took D to Dave and Buster's for his 21st birthday while A2 was out of town. Ever since she has been talking incessantly about wanting to go. She's only 20 though, so she can't get in. She's been practically counting down the days until my boyfriend turned 25 so he could get her in. I guess she feels left out, because we're all 21+. We all got left out of things when we were under the legal age, so what's the big deal? She doesn't drink or play video games often. We put her off for more than a month, but they finally pinned us down, so we're going Tuesday night.

She also does a lot of other stuff that irritates me. She likes to talk about being bisexual, but she's never done anything with anyone besides D. I've made out with more girls than she has. (Although I've made out with more girls than D, too.) This alone wouldn't bother me, but she hits on me fairly often. Not full out, but she tells me how pretty I look, or how nice my ass looks. It doesn't bother me because she's a girl (God knows I'll take whatever compliment I can get) but more so because it seems inappropriate for my future sister-in-law to do so.

She also commits my number one pet peeve, which is complaining how fat she is while eating chips/popcorn/cheesecake/cookies. We'll all go out to dinner, then afterwards A2 and D snack all night while my boyfriend and I just sit there. They then complain about how we don't exercise much, so why are we so skinny?

Also, I know imitation is flattery and all, but there needs to be a limit. She tries to listen to the same bands as me, watch the same shows, read the same books. She styles her hair like mine. I understand I'm cool and all, but get your own identity.

This could go on and on, so I'll stop here. I guess I just need to suck it up, because it doesn't look like she's going anywhere. Wish me luck at Dave and Busters. I will keep my mouth shut and smile like I always do.

**** Also, go vote in Mr. Fab's cleavage contest. I can't tell you which is mine, but I am in there. ****

Friends Will Be Friends

Friendships are great, aren’t they? In the immortal words of the greatest rock band in history, Tenacious D, “Friendship is rare, my derriere, when you find out much later that they don't really care.”

I’m coming off as more bitter than I meant to. Friendship is great. Your friends are your support system, your heart, your entertainment. When they’re true friends, that is.

I, however, have been blessed with some awful friends throughout time. I'm not placing the blame all on them, we all make mistakes. Here are three examples.

1. Let’s call her Beth. We were best friends from when we were nine. However, everything she said was a put down. She’d be talking about Golden Girls, and I was Blanch. If she was talking about Top Gun, I was Iceman. I was always the worst case
in any of her scenarios.

Now this alone, I could deal with. Then somewhere in high school she starting changing, getting sluttier and sluttier. She made it a point to flirt heavily with my boyfriend’s two best friends. These two guys had been friends for 10 years, and then Beth comes along and turns them against each other. She led both of them on, letting them each think they were the one she wanted. This went on for almost a year, and then my boyfriend and I broke up.

Instead of being there, supporting me after I broke up with my boyfriend of two years, she slept with him, and everyone in my school found out, and kept asking me about it. This is when our friendship was over.

2. Let’s call her Tina. Tina and I met in kindergarten, and became friends quickly. This friendship continued on and off throughout the course of school. We still talk occasionally. Tine, however, is not someone I would normally choose to hang out with. She was more a friend by default, because we had known each other so long. She was loud, brash, and embarrassing. She was also in and out of rehab all throughout high school, and we would lose contact at points. Oddly, we lost contact during her sober points, because the rehab group she was in discouraged friendship with non-rehab people.

All and all, Tina wasn’t a bad person. She was really jealous of other friendships, boyfriends, and attention in general from guys. She would send out a picture of us and our friend Mary to random people over the internet and ask who they thought was the hottest. Then she would proceed to get angry at me when I was chosen. She would flirt a lot with guys who liked me, especially Josh (who maybe had a little crush on me. Maybe.) She would also flirt with my boyfriends, but that didn’t bother me that much.

3. Let’s call her Mary. Mary and I became friends because all her other friends couldn’t stand her when we were in middle school. Beth and I felt bad for her, because she had been friends with those people for a long time. Mary was whiny, petty, and bratty, but she made for a hell of a sidekick. She was supportive of the decisions I made, she was always willing to drive anywhere we went, she always had us over to her house and her mom would bake pies and cookies. So I guess in some ways we used each other.

She was not what you would call great with guys. I think she was just so bratty and kind of mannish. She had to sit by while Beth and I dated guy after guy. If there were three guys, one would like me and the other two would like Beth (or vice versa). Mary, sometimes in conjunction with Tina, would send pictures to a certain guy of me while I was drunk, or making out with a guy. I’m not sure if she did it because she didn’t like me, or if it was because she was trying to show this certain guy that maybe I wasn’t the best person for him to like.

I kind of think it had to do with the fact that she never even kissed anyone aside from spin the bottle. All through high school she was friends with this guy that she clearly had major feelings for. She swore up and down she didn’t like him. One night after he broke up with a girlfriend, we had a fairly major make out session (are you sensing a theme from my high school days?), and after that, she barely spoke to me. We were still civil, we had mutual friends, but we went from being best friends to acquaintances pretty quickly. Okay, this one is partially my fault.

Again, the D says it best with “long as there’s a record deal, we’ll always be friends!.”

What are your worst friendships?

It All Comes Together

This is going to be a random, three part post today.

1. I am way overdue discussing this, but the ever awesome Troy has bestowed an award upon me.
That's right, I'm cooler than this guy. I am so proud. But read Troy's post about it, it's way funnier than mine could be. Thanks, Troy!

2. I swear I'm not a lesbian. Really. But how hot are these girls?

Very, very hot is the answer you were looking for.

3. There's a bunch of movies I've seen that I didn't discuss so this is going to be short.

Charlie Bartlett- Super funny ,super good. It's a quirky indie comedy so it's not for everyone, but it's really good.

Vantage Point- Sucked pretty bad. The first hour and fifteen minutes were literally the same story over and over again, then the last fifteen minutes picked up, but I was already so bored I didn't care. There was no character development, and everything was really flat.

Death At A Funeral- Super, super, funny. Like really, really. We saw it in a group of people and everyone loved it. Then I recommended it to my coworkers, they all saw it and loved it.

The Nines- I was really confused during most of it, but I sure like looking at Ryan Reynolds.

I Know She's A Super Lady

Robin has inspired me to tell you about my girl crushes. And I don't mean girl crush as admiration, I mean girls that I have crushes on.

Apparently, I have a type. I like my ladies to be petite.

1. Isla Fisher. The first time I saw Wedding Crashers I was blown away. She's so cute and crazy. I even watched Hot Rod and Wedding Daze because of her.

2. I know I've talked about this before, but Kristen Bell. Oh, Veronica. I'm so excited about Forgetting Sarah Marshall, because I also love Jason Segel.

3. Rachel Bilson. I know she's not the best actress in the world, but she's so pretty. And I love Summer Roberts.
