Closer to the Point

I've kept this blog to myself. No one I know outside of the blogging community knows about it, and I like it that way. Not because I'm embarrassed, but because if someone I knew was reading it, I'd edit myself too much. I want to be able to talk about my family, or my boyfriend, without risk of hurting their feelings.

However, my boyfriend and I have started a blog. It's mostly going to be rants, to be honest. I haven't talked much about the eccentricities of my boyfriend here, but let's just say he's crazy. He has his own way of looking at things, and his own ideas about the world, and those ideas don't usually match up with how other people think.

I'd like to keep this blog private from him. I want it to be more of a personal blog, where the other one will be more opinions and articles. So, please come and join us at Closer to the Point, but if possible, don't mention this blog.

Treat them as two separate entities from each other.

But please, visit us there. It'll mean the world to him if he knows people are reading his words.

Ok so a) I will read it but it'll be a bit weird. b) if you don't want him to know about your blog, you shouldn't have linked to it on your blog. There are ways to tell who is linking to whom. Trust me.

And I used to have the same thoughts, about keeping my blog a secret because I didn't want people that I know in real life to read it, but I grew out of that. I tell people what I'm thinking and feeling now and I could care less who reads it. Even if my parents read it. I'm comfortable with myself to be okay with everyone reading it. I also stand behind what I say, unless it's not true, but why would I say something that's not true?

Robin- Thanks, love

Josh- lol I know there are ways to check who is linking to you, I just highly doubt mike would check. He is possibly the laziest person ever. I love him dearly, but he's not someone to do any extra work

josh- also, it's not that I'm not comfortable with myself. God knows I think highly enough of myself. It's that I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings. Like how I just called mike lazy. He knows he's lazy, but it's still insulting

if you called me lazy, I wouldn't be insulted because it's true. If things are true, you should be willing to accept the criticism and move on. Besides, being lazy is a good quality to have. I tell myself that everyday.

Josh- I'm not saying it's not true (about either of you-lol) but I'm just saying, how would you feel if your girlfriend wrote a post criticizing you, even if it were all true? It's still hurtful.

I'm open to criticism, especially from girlfriends. It's strangers that criticize me that I have a problem with.

Josh- I feel like we're having nine different conversations, all on different websites

Wouldn't you prefer your girlfriend talks to you about whatever her issue is instead of talking in a public forum?

I wouldn't really care where she did it. Obviously, I would prefer her to tell me instead of write about it on a blog, however, if we don't receive criticism and aren't open to accepting our own faults, then why would you even care in the first place? The only reason people don't like to hear about what other people think about them is because they don't want to change. And change is inevitable.

And also, having conversations over multiple websites is awesome.

josh- Actually mike's probably the most open to criticism of anyone I've ever met- He doesn't necessarily do anything with it, but he takes it well. I'm the opposite. It's not that big of a deal, seeing as how I'm perfect. There's not a lot of opportunity to criticize me.

You are right Mandy, you are perfect. There's absolutely nothing wrong with you. And also, you have a nice ass, so that's a plus.

I agree 100% with the keeping this blog private... I am kicking myself severely for opening up my blog to people I know outside of the blogging world. Seriously. I'm holding so much back now... so I get what you're sayin'.

As far as the blog for both of you, I think that's a good idea! I wish my fiance would get into something like that but... well, he's more into hunting than blogging. Ha!
